Here's a pretty mid-century fairy lamp or votive holder, made by the Westmoreland Glass Company of Grapeville, Pennsylvania. I've found elsewhere that this blank or style of lamp was/is called 'Wakefield'; I've seen it in many different colors, but this is just clear glass with gold flash highlighting. I'd guess that it dates from the 1960's or 1970's (these types of things were common as household decor back in the day - I'm old enough to remember). The piece is about 6-3/8" tall, and about 4-3/4" wide at the middle (the foot's about 2-3/8" square). It was apparently used a good deal - there's a little glob of wax on the inside, and the gold flash is very worn in a number of places. But the good thing about gold flash is, unless you're looking up close, you don't really see the wear, i.e. it looks fine at distance. Beyond the wear, the piece is in good shape with no chips, cracks, flakes, etc. Cool little piece of mid-century home decor, still perfectly functional, and it looks great on display; I've got way too much of this kind of thing in my life, and am constantly buying more, so this needs a new home.
