Vintage Pro Tools HD 2 system with Mac G4, Digidesign 192, WAVES plugins.
This is a complete and fully functional
Pro Tools
rig based around the Mac G4 M8570, and a Digidesign 192 I/O
with eight analog in 8 analog out. 96 track count total
available at either 44.1 or 48.
Includes installed software: Pro Tools 6.4, Mac OSX
version 10.3.2, Toast Titanium 5.2  and Waves Platinum
Bundle TDM and Waves Restoration Bundle.
Included hardware are installed Pro Tools HD2 Core and
Process cards, "quiet" fans and power supply in the G4,
Mac Pro Mouse, Pro Keyboard, 76 GB "Mac HD" (runs
system OS & APPs) and 150 GB Data drive (for PTs
session storage), DigiLink cable, Pro Tools dongle key
and video adapter to connect a VGA monitor. NOTE video
monitor & cable are not included - any VGA monitor
should work fine. 2 Power cords also included.
Except for recent testing, the system has been retired
since 2010 and has always been in a non-smoking
studio environment. Cosmetically very clean throughout
and recently checking record and play back operations
performed as good as day one. Built-in Mac drive
successfully tested using the Toast Titanium App to
record a test CD.
This would be a great complete system for anyone
wanting to get into Pro Tools. Or perhaps a second
mix/edit/master suite for a growing studio.
This system has always be a great sounding rock-solid performer
and I have no reservations it will march-on as such as long
as you wish.
I am posting as a complete system for a while before
parting out as individual components, but pricing it as
such, which of course would not include the Mac OS, Pro Tools,
WAVES, or Toast software.
I've tested it quite a bit as mentioned and did not detect
any issues. Please see photos and feel free to ask questions.
System will ship in 2 boxes:
G4- In original box with Pro Mouse, Pro Keyboard,
Manual & Power Cable.
192 I/O- In original box with Power cord, 12' DigiLink
cable, Pro Tools Dongle Key, and 2 @ 9.5' 8 channel 25
pin DSUB x TRS plug Analoge snakes.

2) COMMENTS:
Known issues:
>G4 power button is finicky! This is a known trait of this
model. To turn on I use right corner of my left hand thumb
nail and depress the front panel button at it's "11
O'clock" position for 2-3 seconds, and repeat if
necessary. I know... you'd think Apple could have done
better, right?!!
> One of the DSUB/TRS snakes has a weak channel 8.
It's clean but down about 10db. It's clearly marked with
yellow tape at the plug end. I always mixed down to 2
channels, so it was never a problem. I've not included it
in my ask price as it is defective, but again, only ch 8.
> The Mac Keyboard is missing one of the small rubber
feet, and it's plastic surround "bows down" a bit when
lifted & examined. Neither affect performance.
>Untested Mac rear panel ports, but worked fine when
last used and assumed fine are: Ethernet, Modem,
Firewire, AV in/outs.
