    NASA JPL Mars Pathfinder Lander / Carl Sagan Memorial Station
    This is a mint condition, small version of the Mars Pathfinder Lander, which was deployed from the Mars Pathfinder spacecraft back in 1997. It's made plastic, and is 2 and 3/4 inches across. This lander deployed the Sojourner rover, which then explored Mars, and was a great success. The panels fold up and down, and as you can see in the photo, the Mars rover sits on one panel in it's flattened, pre-deployment position!
    After the landing, the site was renamed the Carl Sagan Memorial Station, after the famous cosmologist / astronomer who had passed away a few months prior to the landing.
    This is a really nice mini version of this incredible machine!
