ANTIQUE PEWTER ADJUSTABLE BELT
VINTAGE 1972   SARAH COVENTRY
This interesting belt has very detailed links and a large clasp with a hook on the back that makes the size adjustable up to about 38" in length.  The links measure about 1 1/4" in width.  It looks heavier than it is; it's actually rather lightweight.
The belt has an antique, sort of medieval feel and is aptly named Camelot.  It is signed SARAH COV on the clasp and was first sold in 1971.  It also came in antiqued bronze.
We've heard that some people looped it around the neck and wore in as a necklace which they felt had an Egyptian look.
The belt has been in our family's possession since we worked for the company from the late 1950s through the 1970s and is in good vintage condition, with some small areas of surface loss on the front of a few of the links and signs of wear on the back.  Please see the Item Condition Note above for details, and also please look at our photos carefully, as they are an important part of this description.  We do not use stock photos; the jewelry you see is the jewelry you'll get.
Sarah Coventry made fine costume jewelry that was very popular and was sold at home fashion shows for decades.  Our family worked with the company as mentioned, and we still have a collection of nice pieces like this.
The company was known for such versatile, well-made jewelry with ageless appeal. They named and numbered their pieces, which makes it more fun to collect them.

Also, our family was involved with Sarah Coventry, Inc., for many years. Our mom was a regional manager, and one of us often assisted her at sales meetings as well as home fashion shows. We still have an extensive collection of her never-worn Sarah Coventry pieces.
We are 3rd generation "collectors" who have also inherited the "collections" of the previous generations. So we have LOTS of things to "rehome".
